Surviving the future: survival of the kindest was a series of work produced by Peer Ambassadors and Peer Ambassador Artist in Residence 2023–24, Meera Shakti Osborne. Over the course of six months, from March to September 2023, Meera and the Peer Ambassadors spent time reflecting on and creating work which explored themes of friendship, survival, alternative futures, and the possibilities for permanence.
The group collectively produced a riso printed zine, printed by PageMasters, and two large scale flags; both of which were launched as part of a public sharing and celebration hosted at Hoxton Trust Community Garden. As part of the event the Ambassadors devised a series of readings songs and performances which took place throughout.
To mark the end of their time on the programme, the Ambassadors also planted an apple tree in the Hoxton Trust Community Garden that can be revisited, and returned to for years to come.
